Horticulture Training Center
Part of my goal of writing about my adventures in aquaculture is to describe where I am getting some of my information and research from. The idea of using a water conservation technique to retain water on my pond (see post) came from the Horticulture Training Center in Talegaon, near Pune.
I went by there to check out the pond that they had created using polythene to retain the water. As a byproduct of my visit, I learned that they offer several courses and training modules in horticulture.
The Horticulture Training Center was established as a collaboration with the Maharashtra State Agricultural Marketing Board (MSAMB) under its National Institute of Post Harvest Technology (NIPHT) and the Practical Training Center (PTC)of the Netherlands.

Horticulture Training Center – Contact Information
I went by there and was greeted very warmly by the receptionist. I was immediately introduced to experts in the area and they gave me a personal tour of the entire institute. It is very well maintained and it is obvious that they are doing fantastic work in training farmers to improve their skills in horticulture.
The Horticulture Training Center does have a website, however it does not seem to be functioning at the moment. So instead of posting a link for the website, I decided to scan in the booklet that was given to me at the reception. All the contact information, courses, mission statement etc are on this flyer.
Please feel free to contact the Horticulture Training Center.
